This is a set of the very first salt & pepper shaker's Ball made with
original box. 1 round & 1 square jar is the correct way these were packed
with zinc caps. You can see in the pic below the date of 1936 embossed on the
box.
Here you can see a close up of the 2 jars

This is a set from the 1940's with the 2 colored lids. Also with original box
these have Made in USA embossed on the front heel and both are now the same
shape.
These are some of the last style made in the late 1970's probably 1980's. With
white & blue caps you can see they now just say Ball Mason.
These are a special made set for their 100th anniversary. Embossed 1887-1987 Our
100th Year in Muncie & Ball mason on the other side. These are larger 4
ounce shaker's with handles. Redbook #379
Here is a view of the box lid where you can read about the history it talks
about.

This is basically your 1930's salt/pepper shaker but this one is a little
different. This jar has a solid zinc cap and rubber on it which makes it a
salesman sample. These were carried around and taken out on the road to promote
the quality of Ball jars to perspective buyer's. A real neat item to have in the
collection. Circa:1930's
Here is a set of Ball mini mug shaker's from around 1986
in the 4 ounce size in original box.
