| On this page I will show sample test run jars that were not officially released to the public. These you can consider prototype jars to experiment on before an actual release. |
This happens to be THE VERY FIRST Amber Buffalo jar reproduction blown by Joe
Miller in 1976. I have documentation on this to prove as it came from an ex-Ball
production manager in charge of the Bicentennial jars. As you can see this jar
still has the blowover bubble still on the top. These jars are very hard to
obtain if not impossible. I also have a finished one with the milk glass lid. Pretty
cool jar.
This is a very RARE jar with only 5 known to exist. One of the Bicentennial jars
in Milk glass. These jars look just like the Old Spice aftershave containers in
color. You will notice the lid isn't the same color. No lids were made of this
material as they were all clear and then painted to match the jar or come close.
30 of these were made and then 25 were broken so that left only 5. I do believe
another is in the hands of Alltrista Corporation which was a spinoff Company
Ball did years ago. I think I know where 1 more is and don't have a clue where
the other's are but luckily I got one for my collection which still amazes me
till this day.
Another very scarce/rare sample jar in flint glass. ( Clear ) This particular
quart jar was only run in 25 unit's. It differs to the other's as it has Edmund
Ball's signature across the back. The regular Bicentennial jars do not have this
signature on them. Ball blue was the released jar with the regular eagle logo/no
signature. These were also released in Ball blue with the signature run in 5000
units although not sold to the public these were used as a presentation item.
